Coronado 122SD Overview

The Coronado 122SD is built around a proven Freightliner core, with the addition of advanced technology and plenty of enhancements. It’s a tough, reliable, multipurpose truck that's been built strong enough to go off-road – making on-road driving a dream. Whether you are doing local, single-trailer distribution work or a major B-double line haul job, the Freightliner Coronado will do the job effectively and efficiently every single day. 

With a huge stainless steel grille, square bonnet and stylish chrome air intakes, the Coronado stands out with it's imposing good looks. But the Coronado is more than just an attractive exterior, it is hard-working and efficient - all adding up to make the Coronado the best thing to hit the Australian truck market in years.

  • Bonnet tilt mechanism reduced the lift effort of the bonnet to only 20 kg
  • A single high-tech reflector provides front and side illumination, and minimal effort is needed to change bulbs.
  • The windshield has been designed in two pieces, to make replacement easier and cheaper.
  • Massive 1,900 square inch engine-mounted radiator – large enough to handle the hottest conditions with reserve capacity.

Coronado Power

Every aspect of the Freightliner Coronado has been designed to make it the perfect truck for on-highway applications.

Choose from the Detroit Diesel DD15 or Cummins ISX engine, with power options ranging from 485 to 600 hp. Both engines are fully ADR80/03 compliant and can be upgraded without changing engine hardware. With all that power the Freightliner Coronado has a GVM of 24,000 kg and can be rated for 106,000 kg GCM for general highway use (standard 6x4 configuration).

Coronado Style & Comfort

The Coronado Cab is up to 20 centimetres wider than most conventional cabins. As with all Freightliner cabs, it exceeds rigorous European crash-worthiness standards (ECE-R29), providing a high level of driver safety. The large cab comes in 5 variations, from a day cab through to a 58" raised roof double sleeper.

Interior highlights include:

  • A flat floor throughout the cab and sleeper areas makes it much easier for the driver to move about.
  • EzyRider® II high-backed seats
  • An ergonomically designed injection-molded dash that puts everything in easy reach
  • Fully-adjustable chrome and leather steering wheel
